Meet Senior Jasmin Corkle!
Jasmin is one of our Newport High School interns making a difference at Newport Elementary, where she works in Mrs. O’Donnell’s Kindergarten classroom and Mrs. Templeton’s 2nd grade classroom.
Jasmin shares that the best part of her internship is “being able to work with the kids individually and build strong relationships—not only with the students, but with the teachers as well.” She dedicates her time to volunteering in the classroom Monday through Thursday mornings then heads to her classes. She is a busy student.
After graduation, Jasmin will attend Lebanon Valley College to major in Early Childhood Education, with a goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. 🍎
In addition to her internship, Jasmin was recently recognized as Newport High School’s Rotary Club Student of the Month for March, honoring her academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and commitment to her community.
When she’s not busy with school or her internship, Jasmin is actively involved in PYEA, Varsity Club, and Spirit Club, and she is also a member of the Newport High School softball team.
👏 A huge thank you to Mrs. Templeton and Mrs. O’Donnell for mentoring Jasmin this year!
🎉 Congratulations, Jasmin, on all of your accomplishments! We are so proud and can’t wait to see all you achieve in the future.
