First Stamp Meeting

Attention 10th Grade Students and Parents/Guardians:

Last year, Newport High School was chosen to partner with the not-for-profit organization, First Stamp. First Stamp was founded by two lifelong friends whose lives were forever changed by a backpacking trip through Europe. This time together, an adventure really, ignited their passion for travel, their curiosity about other places and people, and was the beginning of their personal journeys from living in a small town to our lives as mothers and business executives. This organization provides full scholarship global travel experiences to high school girls from rural areas of the U.S. First Stamp’s mission is to bring the world closer together through experiences in another place and culture, while raising girls' sights about how they might fit into both their community and the greater world.

There will be a parent/guardian/student meeting for any interested 10th grade FEMALE on October 29, 2024 at 5:00 pm in the HS Media Center. This is an informational meeting only that will allow parents/guardians and students to hear more about the trip, the application process, and be able to pose questions directly to Sarah Williams, one of the co-founders of First Stamp, along with the two Newport students that went on the trip last year, Mary Jones and Taylor Barr. The application process will begin on November 15, 2024.  Check out the First Stamp website for more information about the program, application requirements, timeline, and details about the Summer 2025 trip. www.firststamp.org or email First Stamp Co-Founder Sarah Williams at [email protected].
